The Geddes Masterclasses
The most recent Geddes Masterclass was held on Friday 30 January 2026 at St Edmund Hall. Students heard from Sky News’ Deputy Political Editor Sam Coates.

On Friday 14 November 2025, ITV’s Director of News and Current Affairs – and Geddes Trustee – Andrew Dagnell gave students an insight to his work as a senior broadcast journalism executive.

The Geddes Lecture
The next Geddes Memorial Lecture will take place on Friday 6 March, 2026 at the Examination Schools in Oxford.

Stephen Bush, associate editor and columnist at the Financial Times, as well as the author of the daily newsletter ‘Inside Politics’ will give the 2026 Geddes Memorial Lecture, on what journalists owe the open society.
