The Geddes Masterclass
The Geddes Masterclass 2024 was held on Friday 20th January at St Edmund Hall. Students heard from Sky News’s Shingi Mararike on ‘Getting In and Getting on in Journalism’ and The Spectator’s Emma Byrne on ‘Getting the News First and Right’.

The Geddes Lecture
The next Geddes Memorial Lecture will take place on Friday 6 March, 2026.
Stephen Bush, associate editor and columnist at the Financial Times, as well as the author of the daily newsletter ‘Inside Politics’ will give the 2026 Geddes Memorial Lecture, on what journalists owe the open society.
